Sector 7 now open!

SECTOR 7 is now open! I'm a couple days short of my October 31st estimate so this is great! The sim is completely finished now and open for sales and excursions. It wouldn't be anywhere near where it is now without the extensive skills of Lordfly Didgeridoo, who was responsible for the bulk of the man-power involved.

Here are a couple of photos of the completed sim with a few more at my flickr site, but really, go explore it for yourself!

Teaser shots from Sector 7 v2.0!

SO we've been toiling around within the sim for the past week now and things are coming together nicely. While there's still work to be done, I just am so excited about things that I can't help but tease you guys with some sample shots from within the sim.

Keep in mind that things aren't done yet and it's still very preliminary, but still, it's a taste of things to come!

Timber!

WHILE the above video might seem shocking, it is actually the harbinger of good things! Beginning yesterday (I'm a bit slow updating since I'm out of the country traveling right now) Sector 7 is temporarily closed while I roll out a new sim redesign. While I enjoy the current one extensively and continue to get remarks about how unique and cool it looks, it's not really felt right to me for a little while. The new design will keep the same creativity while allowing a bit more room to play around in.

Tentative reopening is October 31st, depending on my internet connection and the design completion. In the meantime products can be purchased via the kiosks at ZAi-Gear (also check my profile for the pick) or OnRez until the sim is back up.

Temporary outage affecting update servers

The issue appears to be fixed in the latest version of the sim server software and should no longer be a problem.

IT'S come to my attention that there is a temporary issue with my update servers due to the new Mono rollout on 1.24 breaking emails. LL is already working on a fix to this which will hopefully be released soon. In the meantime receiving updates to products won't work. I will update this when the issue is resolved.

[UPDATE] - All products modify-enabled

AFTER the previous announcement, all products are now modify-enabled. The new pricing discussed in this entry is now in effect. Changes are in effect both in-world and via OnRez.

Anyone owning an avatar purchased prior to this update simply has to rez their vendor box to receive the permissions changes.

If there are any problems please shoot me an IM and I'll take a look at it.

[UPDATE] - Mod enabled on Generation1 line now!

[5:10 PM] - The update has been pushed to OnRez as well now.

AS per this entry, I have rolled out the updates on the Generation1 line. The pricing changes are now live, as are the new permissions. At the moment this is just in-store, but I'm pushing it out to OnRez shortly.

And like I said before, everyone who purchased an avatar prior to today simply needs to rez their vendor box and they can get an update to the new modifiable version. This should go off without a hitch but if there's any trouble shoot me a message and let me know.

This is only on the Generation1 line at the moment, I will update the other lines as I'm able to.

[New Release] Tinybot

STARTING strong with the new launch, I'm excited to announce the release of the first avatar in the new Q-BOT line: Tinybot!

Big new things!

HELLO and welcome to the brand new, official BLOG of the brand new, official website of my store, abstract avatars! by Joshua Nightshade. Hopefully if you're here you know what Second Life is; if you don't, these are some good places to begin.

Anyway, after a lot of work, I'm happy to make both this blog and my website officially open. Those of you who have seen my sim, Sector 7, will notice that things look a little bit different than you're used to. But beyond the brand new vendor artwork and new products, there's a big surprise that I'm excited to share.
